If it's from a plant, eat it.
If it's made in a plant, don't.

Our Farm

Paul and Joyce Hails are the owners of Hails Family Farm, LLC. Our farm is located just outside the little town of Lopez, Pennsylvania which is known as “The Ice Box” of PA. Lopez is notorious for its  extremely cold temperatures in the winter and cool breezes in the summer. It's a fact that one summer, Lopez experienced a frost in each of the summer months! Lopez is surrounded by thousands of acres of state game lands and is a short distance from beautiful Ricketts Glen State Park and Lake Jean. Little did we know that when we moved to Lopez over 10 years ago from Wyalusing which is actually north of Lopez, that our growing season in Lopez would look quite different from our previous farm. We were told that we wouldn't be able to  grow much in Lopez. After over 10 years, we have grown quite a bit of produce! Growing several crops in our greenhouse and hi-tunnel has helped to make this possible here in “The Ice Box” of PA!

We sell our certified organic produce at two locations: our farm stand at our Lopez farm and another produce stand in Laporte, the county seat of Sullivan County. Both stands are self serve. Additional items we sell at our Lopez stand are our own farm raised meats (beef, poultry, pork), honey, canned goods, our own non-GMO eggs, baked goods, and more!

We grow and sell a variety of produce and everything we grow is certified organic. There are some crops that we do not grow here, fruits for example, and we partner with other local farmers whose growing practices are either certified organic or chemical free.

Our Animals

Our cows are out on pasture year round. Of course in snowy winters, they munch on hay, non-GMO grain, and they always have access to free choice minerals. They have a shelter for the bitter, stormy days.

Our pigs are fed a non-GMO grain. Try some of our delicious nitrate free bacon and sausage! Broilers (meat chickens) are supplemented with non-GMO grain and they are moved daily on pasture.

Laying hens enjoy being outside on grass enjoying the grass and bugs as nature intended. They are supplemented with a non-GMO grain. Delicious eggs with bright orange yolks!
